Don’t you just love it when an idea bears more fruit than you thought it would? I headed to a friend’s to DIY some shoe- bling on the weekend and ended up with way too much craft to fit on one post!
So, I bring you ‘Shoe Week”! It’s like Shark Week, but without the water.
My partner in crime is Robyn from Paterson Personal Styling, who I met through work but has become a friend. She’s got a dirty mouth like me, and if she calls you a dick head, you know she likes you.
In each episode we’ll be making a different craft to bring a plain pair of heels to life.
The Cats Eye
2 x deep brown beads or buttons, a matching shade of ribbon, 2 pairs of Velcro dots, pliers.
Use the pliers to cut the loop of the buttons and make it flush (if yours have these, they might not).
Cut two equal lengths of ribbon. Take one of the lengths of ribbon and the button, fold the ribbon back on itself to create two loops and secure it under the Velcro dot.
Attach the reverse dot onto the shoe in the position you desire, then stick the button to it.
The Alternate Bow
2 x fabric button casings, a length of fabric, 4 x wooden flag cut outs, 2 x clips, hot glue, pliers and scissors.
Take a length of fabric and attach it to the button casings using the instructions on the box. Use the pliers to cut off the loop on the back to make it flush.
Use the hot glue and attach the button to the clip.
Glue and attach the wooden flag cut outs to each side. Of the button.
Repeat for the second shoe.
