Man, alliteration makes everything seem better. Throwback Thursday, Manic Monday, Tits-Out Tuesday… they just make you want to automatically participate, especially if it’s doing something nice like wearing a low cut top, or following a bunch of like-minded social accounts on ‘Follow Friday’.
But don’t think because it’s alliterative that you’re only limited to doing it one day of the week. In fact, you could be limiting yourself!
The key to getting more followers on Instagram and Twitter is to follow more people. It’s considered good practice to re-follow those who follow you too. #dontbeadouchebag
Tag away! When you’re tagging brands, you should use their actual account. From a marketing perspective, I’m hanging out for people to interact with me instead of the other way around. Larger brands might not re-tweet etc, but smaller brands will probably do it. I’ve got a re-tweet from Freedom, but not from Officeworks for example when I used their products in a DIY.
Specifically for Twitter, just posting your own stuff isn’t enough, you need an interesting feed. You want it to look like you care about other people’s content and not just your own. Go here and set up an account: Klout. It calculates ‘social clout’ and helps you find people to follow and content to share regularly, easily!
Happy freaking Friday! I’m off to have a wine and play some Jenga!
