So, the other day I put up this video tutorial, but there was so much in that 3 minutes that I didn’t get to say, and the writer in me is going, ‘Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo! So many more jokes to make!’.
You can watch the video here (I’ve been told it’s pretty funny), but if you need more clarification on the steps to making your own Bogan Wine Glass, read on mate!
You’ll need a pony glass (small beer glass), a tall shot glass and some araldite with a nozzle.
I got all of the glasses from my local Good Samaritan store. You might need to trawl through a couple of stores before finding the right selection. I ended up going to three.
The rest is pretty simple.
Make sure your glasses are washed and dried.
Turn the pony glass upside down on a flat surface. You’ll put the shot glass onto the pony tominimize glue drizzling and make the largest surface area bond.
Use the nozzle of the araldite to slowly cover the neck of the shot glass in glue. Be generous, but don’t go overboard.
Press the glued edge of the shot glass into the middle of the pony glass and leave to dry.
In five minutes, you’ll be drinking wine out of a beer glass like any proper Shazzer, Kim or Noreen!
I considered putting something decorative down the neck of my shot glasses, but keeping in the bogan trend it would have had to be something like used cigarette butts or incense sticks, and I think it’s important to claw back as much class as you can when drinking from a Bogan Wine Glass.
Can you believe I didn’t have an Aussie flag in the house to use as a prop for the photos? I feel very un-Australian.
Stay tuned for the next episode of D-I-Wine and the corresponding blog post where I articulate what the process of the DIY is not under the influence of red, red wiiiinneee…
Cheers!
