Check it out! I got a logo. I used DesignCrowd, which I highly recommend. The process was great, and I had some interesting options presented to me before choosing this one from KHDesigns.
I love the little heart at the beginning (it’s how I sign off all my correspondence), and I think the crown on the top of the ‘Y’ symbolises the importance of the letter, its uniqueness and my own.
I started this blog thing at the middle of April 2014. It’s been about 4 months now, and I think I’m getting the hang of it, albeit slowly.
I went into it with my eyes wide open. I faced up to the possibility that my forays into blogging would be like every gym membership and diet I’ve ever started. That I’d jump on board with all the best intentions, working my arse off for a couple of months then let it fizzle out.
But, unlike a gym membership or a diet, this blogging thing is giving me so much ongoing pleasure! It’s fun, and it continues to be fun.
In 4 months I’ve seen my hits go from nil to 1,000 per month. Can I have a ‘Hell yeah!’?
For some bloggers out there that’s a drop in the ocean, but for newbie-me that’s amazing. People are choosing to take time out from all the other things they have going on in their lives and read my stuff.
I’ve worked at it, and I think that’s the key. One of my favourite parts has been learning about the actuals of making a successful blog. It’s not just publish and go, there’s so many little things that need to be done to make it work.
The thing is, it’s never actually ‘done’. There’s always updates and changes to be made and, oh yeah, the posts themselves? You kind of need those.
So, I reached my 1,000monthly views this month. I also had an exciting email completely out of the blue from Cut Out & Keep with an opportunity that I’ll share more about soon.
The next order of business in my legit-ness is business cards! And a media kit… And maybe some more training… And a book… Six! Ha!
