The Styling Room has been renamed. It's now called 'The Look Lounge'! The team wanted a name that was a bit more approachable and friendly than the Styling Room, and that's what they came up with. I like it!
Movement stalled a bit on the development of the room as we waited for the larger parts to be refurbished. A new floor was put in, along with new windows and an air conditioner and now we're at painting stage ready to be moved in by the end of the week!
Most of the items for the room have been sourced. I found a white coffee table at the local op shop for just $15! There was someone else inquiring after the table at the same time, but can you believe they decided the price was too steep? (I also found an amazing telephone table that will be the subject of an upcoming post).
We lucked out on the chair for Robyn. The Centre had purchased an amazing armchair from Adairs for use with another promotion and no plans once it was over so I snapped it up! The chair is usually over $299, but as it was already paid for it doesn't come out of my budget, hooray!
Then came what can only be described as one of the best shopping days of my life. I went through the gift ware stores in the Centre and picked up some cushions, a throw, and some frames from Adairs to go with the chair.
I also found some great colour changing LED candles at Dusk, which was great, because the Centre wasn't keen on letting us put open flames in the room. There was also a large silver candle holder that I picked up for $170 because it was damaged.
We also picked up an assortment of candle holders and boxes from Tree of Life and Wicked Things to decorate.
The colours that are in at the moment are the pink and purple that I'm looking for, coupled with some blues and fuchsias. I embraced the colours that are in right now, perhaps bringing in a little more blue than I had planned with my original post, but I think it works.
The next step will be to wait until the paint dries, then dress the room with the items we have and see where the gaps are.
From these photos I can already see that I need some place mats to cover the vast white spaces of the table and coffee table. I feel a DIY coming on...
Oh! I forgot the rug! Can you believe it was only $200? I got it at WA Rugs, which is located just around the corner from the Centre. I saw it as soon as I walked in and I knew it was the rug for me!
