This project is so easy it almost hurt. All you need is a basic knowledge of power tools to pull it all together, with a drill, a jigsaw and a small sander. I used my trusty Bosch tools, they’re perfect for jobs like this.
I saw something similar at a friend’s wedding just over a year ago, and have been meaning to replicate for a while now. The great thing is it’s totally customisable. You can easily make it any size and put in as many succulents as you want!
If this isn’t quite the succulent planter you’re looking for, why not check out this previous project of mine. I’m a sucker for succulents. They’re so hard to kill.
Attach the hole saw bit to your drill and drill the holes. The best way to do this is slowly, so the drill doesn’t stall. No need to push down too hard. There’ll be a bit of mess with the PVC so make sure to have a broom handy.
Squeeze the succulents in their pots and remove them from the dirt. Use that dirt to fill the pole, shaking as you go to distribute the dirt. I didn’t end up needing any extra potting mix because the pots the plants came in were large enough. Once full, gently push the succulents into the holes.
